Summer Products

What I'm using this summer:

I love this mineral foundation. Bare Essentials makes my face itchy during the summer, so I switched to this (plus it's $10 cheaper!). It's Mary Kay mineral foundation in Beige.

Currently, I'm using Femme Couture Baked Bronzer.

To reduce redness, and set my makeup, I use Clinique Redness solutions.

Favorite summer eyeshadow is Mac's Goldmine.

I caved and got the latest talked about mascara (which I like), Maybelline Falsies mascara.

This is the ultimate instant bronzer in a bottle... Sally Hansen's Airbrushed legs in Dark Glow. I LOVE it!

my new best friend... the ombre hair!

I know, I know... I keep mentioning this, but it's my new fave summer hair look. I love it! It's so different, and I never see anyone else with it (which is why I like it!).

I used Wella's Color Charm hair glaze in 4N on the top 1/3 of my hair... (don't worry
about it leaving a noticeable "line" between colors... it evens itself out. I went ahead and left the bottom 2/3 of my hair the color it was already (carmel brown)... or you could buy some hair bleach from a beauty store, and leave on ends for however long until you reach the color you like. (be careful with the bleach though! It can be tricky.)

The celebrity that inspired me was, of course, the lovely Megan Fox. Some people think it just looks like a bad "grown out roots" look, but I think it's natural and summer-y looking.

A couple of other celebrity ombe hair looks that I love...

TAG, you're it!

40 Questions Beauty Tag

1) HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU WASH YOUR FACE A DAY?
I try to wash it twice a day, but if I have to get up really early in the morning, I'm sometimes too lazy lol. I always wash it at night though.

2) WHAT SKIN TYPE DO YOU HAVE? NORMAL/COMBO/OILY
Combo... more oily in the summer.

3) WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT FACIAL WASH?
Neutrogena Advanced Solutions System.

4) DO YOU EXFOILATE? FACE/BODY?
I try to exfoliate my face a few times a week. I exfoliate my body when I'm going to put on self tanner... or when I need to scrub off old self tanner.

The facial wash I use has little beads in it that exfoliate. I also sometimes use Mary Kay Time Wise Microdermabrasion Step one and two.

6) WHAT MOISTURIZER DO YOU USE?
FACE: Neutrogena Advanced Solution Salicylic Acid moisturizer or Cetaphil moisturizer.
BODY: Various Bath & Body Works body creams or Vaseline Intensive Care.

8) DO YOU USE EYE CREAM?
Not as much anymore... but I do sometimes use Mary Kay Time Wise firming eye cream.

9) DID OR DO YOU HAVE ACNE PRONE SKIN?
Yes, unfortunately. I think I have found a system that works for my though. Will do a video on it soon!

MAC's Studio Finish concealer in NW20.

13) DO YOU KNOW YOUR UNDERTONE COLOR?
Yeah, fair/pinkish undertone.

14) WHAT DO YOU THINK OF FAKE EYELASHES?
I love wearing them with a dramatic eye when going out for a night out or something. I don't wear them on a regular basis though... afraid they'd ruin my real lashes. The glue sometimes makes my eyes hurt, as well lol.

15) DID YOU KNOW YOUR SUPPOSE TO CHANGE YOUR MASCARA EVERY THREE MONTHS?
Yeah... but I'm bad about that. I'm definitely in need of a new one!

16) WHAT TYPE OF MASCARA DO YOU USE?
Loreal Paris Voluminous Carbon Black... my ALL time fave!

17) SEPHORA OR MAC?
Hmm... I love both. For makeup, definitely mac. For other misc things such as self tanners, brushes, perfumes, etc... Sephora.

18) DO YOU HAVE A MAC PRO CARD?
Nope... don't really need one.

I go back and forth from using my fingers, to using brushes. Currently I am using brushes for foundation and concealer.

20) DO YOU USE MAKE UP BASE PRIMER FOR THE EYES OR FACE?
Nope... I never use a primer for either my face or eye (unless you count concealer?). I think primers are a waste of money, honestly.

21) WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE EYESHADOW COLOR OR SHADE?
I love Espresso from mac. I use it on my eyebrows and use it as a crease color all the time. Or even when I want a great smokey eye, I use it all over my lid.

22) DO YOU USE PENCIL OR LIQUID EYELINER?
I use pencil (Smolder from mac) for waterline/tightline, then I use cream eyeliner for the top lid.

28) DO YOU BUY YOUR MAKE UP ON EBAY?
No way.

Yes, very much. My new goal is to try to find great, cheap dupes for all my mac products.

30) DO YOU GO TO A CCO?
A what....?

31) DID YOU EVER CONSIDER TAKING MAKE UP CLASSES?
Hmm... not as much make-up as I did hair school. I love working on hair.

32) ARE YOU CLUMSY PUTTING ON MAKE UP?
Haha, no, not usually.

33) NAME A MAKE UP CRIME THAT YOU HATE?
When people wear too dark of a foundation, and then don't blend it into the neck or don't use self tanner to make it blend into the body... it's just like "Really? You didn't notice that in the mirror this morning?"

34) DO YOU LIKE COLORFUL SHADES OF MAKE UP EYESHADOW, LIPSTICK OR NEUTRAL ONES?
I usually stay with neutral colors or dark colors for going out/winter time. Every once in awhile, I'll bust out a red or pink lip or do a bright streak of eyeshadow under my eye.

35) WHICH CELEBRITY ALWAYS HAS GREAT MAKE UP?
I love Megan Fox's makeup.

36) IF YOU COULD LEAVE THE HOUSE WITH ONE MAKE UP ITEM WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Yikes... probably my smolder eyeliner.

37) WOULD YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT MAKE UP ON?
Not completely. I won't always wear eye makeup, but I almost always will have either tinted moisturizer on or some form of foundation. I feel my skin is too blotchy to not.

38) DO YOU THINK YOU LOOK GOOD WITHOUT MAKE UP ON?
Not really... but who does?

39) IN YOUR OPINION WHAT IS THE BEST MAKE UP LINE?
Honestly, I love mac. They just have some great colors and formulas. I also love Revlon and Maybelline, though. I don't believe in spending a TON of money on makeup.

40) WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MAKE UP?
I love it because it's a great creative outlet. You can completely change or just enhance someone's natural features and make them look amazing :o)

my new workout!

It's official... I have got to start working out more! I get winded way too easily and have been eating crap food. Soooo this is my new workout for those of you who are interested. I like this because it can be done at home (or an apartment) and doesn't require you to buy anything. I do repeat this entire circuit three times and yes, I get tired quick! Also, I have been seriously attempting to eat healthier and watch my junk food intake. I'll also be making a youtube video to talk more about all of this new health stuff so you guys can join in with me! Hope you enjoy and good luck! :o)

—> Complete the following body weight circuit with absolutely NO rest in between exercises

1a. 45-degree lunges (instead of stepping straight out in front, step out and to the side at a 45-degree angle, push off your heel back to start position and alternate) x 15 reps per leg

1b. Jumping jacks x 50 reps (fast as you can go, full range of motion)

1c. Push-ups x 12 reps (if you can’t do regular push-ups, do them off your knees until you get stronger)

1d. Lying hip extensions x 20 reps (lying on back with knees bent up, pushing hips into air)

1e. Burpees x 10 reps (start standing, crouch down to floor, kick legs straight back into plank, then back up to chest, then stand, then jump in place)

1f. Squat jumps x 12 reps (explode through the jump; don’t sacrifice form on the lowering phase)

1g. Plank x 30 secs (keep back flat, abs tight, body weight is on forearms and toes only)

1h. High knees x 30 secs (as fast as you can go, brining knees up as high as possible)

—> This is one circuit. Rest 90 secs and repeat 1-3 times, depending on your fitness level.

—> Include 3-5 cardio workouts each week in addition to this workout.

Lessons Learned

Wow, how I hate learning lessons the hard way. I went through quite an ordeal this week, and am slowly trying to build myself back up from it. I had some devastating things happen to me at my job, and realized that several people (including management and people I thought I could trust) completely betrayed me and went behind my back and told lies to get me fired, even though I was one of their best sales employees, and never caused drama or problems. I have never been treated so unfair (and for untrue reasons as well), and have never been let go at any job before. I am telling you all this partly because I'm still upset and venting, and partly because I want to tell you all what I've learned so that you don't have to learn it the hard way like I did. Be SO very careful of who you trust in all aspects of your life. Don't get caught up in people gossiping and trying to get you to say certain things as well, even if you feel like you can trust them. Always be cautious of the people you surround yourself with, especially at work. The work environment can be a breeding ground for gossip, and by all means, stay away from it! I tried to exclude myself from all the drama and gossip, but somehow (through deceitfulness and lies by others), they dragged me down, and crushed my spirit.

So, here I am, trying to forget the past and what happened, and only taking with me new lessons learned, and moving on to something better. Hope you all are having a better week then myself and I'll talk to you all soon!
xo

Whoa blogspot... I forgot about ya!

Sorry I've been MIA from my blog! I usually just update my twitter instead... but I'm going to try to be better, promise!

I just uploaded a new "about me" video just telling you guys a little bit more about myself, if you are at all interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6AGyX1dUo0

I also just finished editing a new "fauxhawk updo" video that I personally love. I think it's a pretty wicked cool hairstyle. I'll be uploading that video tomorrow and probably filming either a new health vlog or hair diary video... not sure which yet.

Well, my "weekend" doesn't start til tomorrow (thanks to my work schedule), but I hope the rest of you guys have an absolutely amazing rest of the weekend! xo
